brook boddie

Nelson Brook Boddie (1968-2020), left this world all too soon at the age of 51. Brook was known and loved by many for his talent, his humility, and above all, for his loving and gentle spirit.

Brook was an accomplished organist, pianist and harpist from Shreveport, Louisiana. He held Bachelors and Masters degrees in Humanities and English from Louisiana State University-Shreveport. He was the Music Associate and Organist at Broadmoor Baptist Church since 1988. He was also on the English Faculties of Louisiana State University-Shreveport and Bossier Parish Community College.

Brook Boddie fulfilled a life-long dream to play the harp beginning in his mid 30's.  He studied with Shirley Jennings at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA.  He played pedal and lever harp and, more recently, had added double strung harp to his beloved harp collection. He published his compositions and arrangements for harp through Seraphim Music. He also played regularly as a volunteer for a local inpatient hospice and at a residential facility for the physically and intellectually disabled.
