Mystic Isle by Philip Hayden is an evocative and atmospheric piece for lever or pedal harp, blending a distinctly Celtic character with an almost exotic, mysterious quality. Written in D minor, the music has a subtle modal flavor that gives it a haunting and intriguing sound while remaining accessible to the player.

Mystic Isle is an easy-intermediate piece and requires no lever changes, making it particularly well suited to lever harp. There are, however, a few pre-set accidentals to establish the harmonic and modal character of the piece. Two versions are included: one without fingerings and one with complete fingerings, allowing players to choose the edition that best suits their needs.

With its atmospheric character and relatively simple technical demands, Mystic Isle is a versatile addition to the repertoire—well suited for concert, meditation, performance, or simply playing for personal enjoyment.
