This arrangement was originally written to be an accessible version for horn solo with accompaniment by non-pedal (lever or Celtic) harp. It can also be played by pedal harp or piano, and in the absence of a horn player, it is even playable as a harp or piano solo. It is not a direct transcription, as the meter and some rhythms were altered for ease of playability, but is faithful in other respects to the original Schubert composition for voice and piano. Small diamond shaped notes, as well as left and right hand indications, are intended for non-pedal harps.
